ASA – 16 – KENYA AND TANZANIA – OUT OF AFRICA SAFARI.

Day – 1 & 2 – United States – Amsterdam - Nairobi.

Begin your journey to Africa aboard your flight on Northwest Airlines and arrive in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport the following morning. Continue to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Kenya’s Cosmopolitan Capital. Once little more than a watering hole for Maasai tribes, today Nairobi is the largest city between Cairo and Johannesburg. Transfer to one of Nairobi prestigious most historic hotels for dinner and overnight.

Day – 3 - Nairobi – Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Today we drive to Kenya’s most spectacular wildlife sanctuary. During this period we have opportunity to see herds of elephant, impala, buffalo, giraffe, as well as leopard, cheetah and lion. Dinner and overnight a Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day – 4 - Maasai Mara – Nairobi.

After Breakfast depart for morning game viewing, return to the Hotel for lunch and drive to Nairobi leisurely with game viewing en-route arriving late in the evening at Pan Africa Hotel or similar. Dinner overnight.

Day – 5 - Nairobi – Amboseli National Park.

Breakfasts at 08:00 a.m. depart for Amboseli National Park, famed for its scenic beauty and enormous collection of big game and prefect view of snow capped Mount Kilimanjaro to Amboseli Lodge or Kilimanjaro Safari Lodge for lunch. Afternoon game viewing in the park. Dinner overnight.

Day – 6 - Amboseli – Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater.

Early Breakfast drive across the Namanga border into Tanzania, arriving in Arusha in time for lunch at Impala Hotel or similar. Afternoon drive to Ngorongoro Crater via Mto wa Mbu and Karatu wheat plantations to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.

Day – 7 - Ngorongoro Crater.

Today we descend 610m into the Ngorongoro Crater for morning game viewing exploring the short-grass plains of the Crater floor; this extinct volcano embraces 100 square miles bounty with lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo and other variety of plain game. Ascend to your Lodge for lunch. Afternoon free. Evening visit the Maasai Bomas and interact with their culture returning to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day – 8 & 9 - Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park.

After breakfast depart to Serengeti for two magical nights with game viewing en-route arriving in Serengeti Seronera Wildlife Lodge or Serengeti Serena Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing along the Seronera River. Dinner overnight.

The following day full game viewing exploring the rolling plains of Serengeti in search of the large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed. Dinner overnight.

Day – 10 - Serengeti – Lake Manyara.

Sunrise game drive starts at 06:00 a.m. return to the Lodge for breakfast at 08:30 a.m. With picnic lunch boxes depart to Lake Manyara via Olduvai Gorge for a private guided visit of this historical archaeological site made famous by the Leakey family. Proceed to Lake Manyara Hotel or Lake Manyara Serena Lodge arriving late evening for dinner and overnight.

Day – 11 - Lake Manyara.

After breakfast descend 600m the Great Rift Valley escarpment to Lake Manyara National Park for full day game viewing in search for the famous tree climbing lions and other predators. Break for packed lunch at a campsite. Afternoon visit the hot sulphur springs (60^OC.) called Maji moto reputedly cooking an egg in about 30 minutes. Dinner overnight.

Day – 12 & 13 – Manyara - Arusha – Amsterdam – United States.

After breakfast leave leisurely to Arusha with stop over at Oldoinyo Orok or Heritage center for purchases of carvings and precious stones arriving in time for lunch at Impala Hotel or similar. Afternoon evening free at the swimming pool or go for Arusha sightseeing. Late evening transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your home bound flight to United States via Amsterdam.

ASA – 17 – KENYA AND TANZANIA – HEMINGWAY SAFARI.

Day – 1 & 2 – United States – Amsterdam - Nairobi.

Day – 3 - Nairobi – Amboseli National Park.

Leave Nairobi at 09:30hrs. and drive through Maasai country via Namanga on the Tanzania border and on to Amboseli (picnic lunch served en route). On arrival check in at Kilimanjaro Safari Lodge or Amboseli Lodge and proceed for a short game viewing in search of Rhino, giraffe, lion, elephant and other species with magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. Dinner overnight.

Day – 4 - Amboseli.

Early morning tea/coffee at 06:00hrs depart for an early game viewing. Return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast proceed for a further game-viewing break for lunch at Lodge. Late afternoon proceed for further game viewing returning to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day – 5 - Amboseli – Arusha.

After breakfast leave Lodge leisurely game viewing en-route to Namanga Tanzania border. After clearing the custom formalities drive to Arusha Tanzania’s northern tourist gateway for late lunch at Impala Hotel or similar. Afternoon and evening free at the swimming pool. Dinner overnight.

Day – 6 - Arusha - Momella Gate - Miriakamba Hut - 10 km, 3 - 4hrs.

Transfer to Momella gate for registration and start the gradual climb through the grassland, the mountain forests to Miriakamba Hut - at 2514m above sea level. Dinner overnight.

Day – 7 - Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut – 4 km. – 2 – 3 hrs.

Take the uphill path through beautiful glades between trees to reach ‘Mgongo wa Tembo’. Views of the Meru Crater from this point are spectacular. Kilimanjaro is seen beautifully sitting on the Eastern horizon on clear days. From here the path steeps through grassy tracks up to the Saddle Hut - at 3570m above sea level. Dinner overnight.

Day – 8 - Saddle Hut – Meru Summit – Momella Gate – Arusha.

Early morning start for the summit, between 1 am and 2 a.m. The path leads to the summit through a very narrow ridge between the outer wall of the Meru Crater and cliffs of the inner wall. The Summit 4566m above sea level is reached just before sunrise, from the summit retrace the route down to the gate with a short rest at Miriakamba Hut. Transfer to Impala Hotel or similar for dinner and overnight.

Day – 9 - Arusha – Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater – 190 km.

Breakfast, 08.30a.m leave your Hotel for Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game viewing. Lunch and afternoon rest at Lake Manyara Hotel Or Lake Manyara Serena Hotel pool. Evening proceed to Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.

Day – 10 - Ngorongoro Crater.

After breakfast in a 4WD descend 610m into the Crater floor for half day game viewing. Ascend to your Lodge for lunch. Afternoon rest at the lounge, evening visit the Maasai Bomas and interact with their culture returning to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day – 11 & 12 – Ngorongoro - Arusha – Amsterdam – United States.

Day – 5 – Amboseli - Nairobi - Kampala.

After breakfast leave your Lodge with game viewing en-route to Nairobi for lunch via Namanga Tanzania border. Afternoon at leisure. Late afternoon depart to the Airport for your flight QP3021 at 16:00 hrs by Regional Air to Kampala. Meet at the Airport on arrival and transfer to Nile Hotel International for dinner and overnight.

Day – 6 – Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park.

Leave Kampala northeast crossing river kafu arriving in Masindi in time for lunch. After a short rest, drive to Murchison fall National Park via Wairingo gate viewing plain game (i.e.) Uganda Kob, Warthog and Chimpanzee, dinner and overnight at a Banda.

Day – 8 – Still At Murchison.

After breakfast leave for game viewing along the Northern bank of River Nile returning to the Camp for lunch. After lunch take a cruise boat drive up to the foot of the mighty falls. Huge crocodiles can be spotted basking along the banks of the Nile River. Dinner overnight.

Day – 9 – Murchison Falls – Kampala.

After breakfast take the path to the top of the falls en-route to Masindi. After a short lunch break continue your journey to Kampala via Hoima Kiboga to Nile Hotel International for dinner and overnight.

Day – 10 – Kampala – Zanzibar.

Early morning tea/coffee drive to Entebe Airport for your flight at 07:20 am by Air Tanzania to Zanzibar via Kilimanjaro. On arrival met and transfer to Breezes Beach Club or Zanzibar Beach Resort your home for the next three days. Spend the day to acclimatize at the lounge, swimming pool or at the beach. Dinner overnight.

Day – 11 – Stone Town Tour.

After breakfast leave to explore the stone town. Visit the most historical and interesting places such as the Zanzibar museum, former slave market, city market, House of wonders, Old fort, the Sultan palace, Old dispensary, Dr. Living stone house, Tip Tip house and the harbour dhows. Take a leisurely walk along the narrow streets for short history of the stone town. Break for lunch in any town restaurant. Afternoon at 14:00 hrs a sailing trip to Changuu and Bawe Islands where you can swim and snorkel admiring the nature of Zanzibar sea until sun set. Later in the evening sail back to the stone town and drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day – 12 – Jozani Forest.

Breakfast depart to Jozani forest to see the endemic red colobus monkeys, a short walk in the forest to see different vegetations. Later visit the snake park and drive back to your hotel for lunch. Afternoon and evening free at the beach. Dinner overnight.

Day – 13 & 14 – Zanzibar – Dar Es Salaam – Amsterdam – United States.

Breakfast, leave for a tour of the fruit farms. Walk along the fruits growing area, you will taste more than 40 odd fruits among them Mangos, nutmeg, star fruit etc. (Fish bar barbeque) lunch will be served. Afternoon visit the ancient Persian Baths. Evening return to your hotel and collect your personal belongings. Transfer to the Airport for your flight to Dar es Salaam and transfer to Peacock Hotel or similar where your day room will be reserved for shower and snacks. Late evening transfer back to the Airport for your home bound flight via Amsterdam.

Day – 1 & 2 – United States – Amsterdam - Nairobi.

Day - 3 – Nairobi – Mount Kenya.

Pick up from your Hotel at 09:00hrs. Drive north to Serena Mountain Lodge. Afternoon at leisure. Meals and Overnight at the Lodge.

Day - 4 – Mount Kenya – Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru.

After breakfast drive around the Aberdare Mountains and descend into the Rift Valley at Lake Nakuru for lunch. Afternoon stroll along the Lake viewing the millions of flamingoes. Return to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day - 5 – Lake Nakuru - Nairobi - Kampala.

After breakfast drive to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon drive to the Airport for your for your flight QP3021 at 16:00 hrs by Regional Air to Kampala. Meet at the Airport on arrival and transfer to Nile Hotel International or similar for dinner and overnight.

Day - 6 – Kampala – Bwindi National Park – 480 km. 7 hrs.

After breakfast drive South west of Kampala across the Equator to Mbarara, stop for lunch on the way. Later proceed through the spectacular scenery of Kabale to Buhoma in Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park to your Tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day - 7 – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

After an early breakfast, start Gorilla trekking at 8.00 a.m. in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. We recommend that you wear good walking shoes and carry a rain jacket and a flask of water. Trekking can be tough and we trust you are in reasonably fit condition. You will carry a picnic lunch into the forest with you. You will be thrilled to have seen these rare primates (no guarantee) and the return journey will be easier to your Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day - 8 – Bwindi National Park – Kabale - 120 Km - 3 hrs.

After breakfast leave for morning game viewing. Lunch break at the camp. Afternoon free. Evening drive to Kabale for dinner and overnight.

Day - 9 – Kabale – Kampala - 415 Km - 5 hrs.

After breakfast drive back to Kampala via Mbarara for lunch. Afternoon drive leisurely to your Kampala Nile Hotel or similar for dinner and overnight.

Day – 10 – Kampala – Arusha.

Early morning tea/coffee drive to Entebe Airport for your flight at 07:20 am by Air Tanzania to Kilimanjaro International Airport arriving at 09:20 am, met greet and transfer to Arusha Hotel formerly New Arusha Hotel situated close to the Clock tower the (Center of Africa) half way from Cairo to Johannesburg for lunch.

Aternoon drive to Tarangire National Park. During the dry season most of the animals congregate around the only source of permanent water in the park, the Tarangire River. This is the best place in Tanzania to see really big herds of elephants of up to 300 at a time on safari. Dinner overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

Day – 11 – Still At Tarangire.

After breakfast with picnic lunch boxes depart for full day game viewing exploring the park, visiting the park Head quarters for lectures about the various species, flora and fauna. Evening return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day – 12 – Tarangire - Lake Manyara.
Breakfast depart leisurely from your lodge with game viewing en-route to Lake Manyara arriving in good time for lunch at Lake Manyara Serena. After Lunch descend 600m the Great Rift Valley escarpment to explore Lake Manyara National Park, which covers an area of only 318 sq km its terrain is so diverse that its mammal and bird lists are most impressive. The park is well known for its tree-climbing lions, which can be found lazing on branches of the acacia trees. In addition there are good numbers of elephants, big herd of buffalo and plenty of leopards. The lake is a favourite place for pink flamingos and wading birds in general. Dinner overnight.

Day – 13 – Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro.
After early breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater via Mto wa Mbu and Karatu wheat plantations to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. Thereafter you descend 610m for a fascinating game viewing on the crater floor. In a landscape reminiscent of the volcanic upheavals of the Rift Valley, the world's largest unbroken, un flooded volcanic caldera (collapsed cone of a volcano) covers 300 sq km In this restricted space, exceptional climatic conditions have favored an explosion of animal life. Some 20,000 great mammals are permanently in residence, as there are permanent water springs here there is no need to migrate. Ascend to your Lodge for lunch. Afternoon at leisure at the lounge or visit the Maasai Bandas to interact with their culture. Dinner overnight.
